. . . Benjamin Diontae Brantley pleaded guilty Monday to fatally shooting his 16-year-old girlfriend with a sawed-off shotgun.
Initially charged with murder when police doubted his claim the shooting was accidental, Brantley pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and possessing an illegal weapon. [A judge] sentenced him to 15 years, with nine to serve in prison and the rest on probation.
