It’s incredible how the media manages to report on racial abuse without telling us what the racial abuse was, lest we might find out the race of the victim and actually understand the full story!
Here is an article from the Manchester Evening News describing a 39 year-old woman in Great Lever being racially abused by a Korean man. It doesn’t tell us what her race is.
Also, it describes him as “Korean”. Interesting. How do they know he’s Korean, as opposed to Chinese or Japanese? And why haven’t they described him as “Asian”? Korea is in Asia, and normally Asian suspects are described as “Asian”.
Why are Pakistani suspects described as “Asian” and Korean suspects described as Korean?
The 39-year-old was waving off family members on Mancroft Terrace, Great Lever, when she was approached by a man – who appeared to be drunk – at around 2.55am on Sunday (January 12).
He mumbled before making the request and when the woman refused, he racially abused her and walked off towards Settle Street.
The man is believed to be Korean, in his 30s, 5ft 7, of large build and with short black hair.http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/woman-racially-abused-man-who-6503150
