Two arrests have been made in connection with the shooting of a volunteer firefighter in Cleveland on Monday.
Jaylend Daquann Turner, 19, of Statesville, was charged with
attempted murder, felony breaking and entering, felony larceny of a
firearm and felony larceny. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention
Center under $3 million bond.
Michael Dwayne Teasley, 25, of Statesville, was charged with
accessory after the fact. He was placed in the Rowan County Detention
Center under $500,000 bond.
Police are still searching for Khari Dewayne McClelland, 23, and Tramel Devon Hart, 18, in connection with the case.
Officials said Marcus Kauffman and his wife had just returned from a
Thanksgiving trip out of town when they noticed a suspicious car.
Deputies said Kauffman drove his wife to a neighbor’s house and when he returned, he was shot in the back of his head.
Deputies said they are looking for McClelland after they found the suspect vehicle that was involved in the crime.
Officials said they are working to identify another person in
connection with the shooting. The suspects were reportedly stealing from
the victim.
Authorities said McClelland should be considered armed and dangerous.
