Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, an African American fraternity, held a
Christmas toy drive at a Radison hotel near the LA airport. As many as
1,500 members from numerous colleges attended. The toy drive descended
into fist fights, flying chairs, pepper spray, and an evacuation of the
hotel.
One Kappa Alpha Psi member told the press that it was just “Alpha males” trying to “impress the females.”
It was originally reported that 25 people were involved in the
fighting. It is now being reported that hundreds of people were involved
in the mayhem.
The ballroom was filled to capacity and several hundred people could
not get in. Some retaliated by rampaging through the hotel banging on
quests’ doors. When the hotel tried to shut down the party early, it
erupted into a mega fight. Forty police officers responded and the
entire hotel was evacuated.
